- By the end of the course, participants should have:
- 1. acquired a profound knowledge of the state-of-the-art research of the Cold War history;
- 2. familiarized themselves with the main structural characteristics and the main concepts of the international relations born during the Cold War;
- 3. developed the ability to understand and order facts against the background of more general international developments;
- 4. established a solid factual baseline related to the global and regional problems and developments during the Cold War years.

No special prior knowledge is required to start the course. , although some basic knowledge of international relations and history is welcome.

Как проходит обучение
The course consists of eight blocks, each including five video-recorded lectures supported by reading materials and tests for self-control.
The completion of the course requires passing through the following types of checks:
- eight intermediate multiple choice tests following each of the eight thematic blocks consisting of five questions (multiple choice tests imply that at least one of the four response options is correct, and at least one is wrong; selecting all correct responses and no wrong ones allows to collect five points; selecting at least one wrong response brings a zero)
- a final test encompassing the entire course themes and materials; the final test consists of twenty single choice questions (only one response option is correct) each worth five points.
