FRUCT Association

FRUCT Association established in 2007 as a cross-border cooperation framework uniting universities, R&D institutions and companies of Finland and Russia. FRUCT is an acronym for Finnish-Russian University Cooperation in Telecommunications, www.fruct.org.

The FRUCT Association is mostly known for organization of top-rated ICT conferences that are included in IEEE calendar and indexed by all major databases. The most up-to-date call for participation are always available at www.fruct.org/cfp. Nowadays the association has activities in Russia, Finland and India. FRUCT develops, productizes and delivers innovative IoT-enabled solutions for e-Healthcare, Location Based Services and Smart Services as well as provides consulting and develops business incubation framework to support needs of our customers and partners. FRUCT is taking active role in popularization and apps development of mobile Linux OS, e.g., Sailfish OS, Tizen OS, etc. FRUCT created and continue to develop Geo2Tag project and community (www.geo2tag.org), which nowadays turn to world’s most popular open source LBS platform and the second most referred LBS platform in the world (following proprietary LBS platform delivered by TomTom). Geo2Tag platform is recommended by IEEE IoT work group for research on smart cities, as well as it is used by many other projects. FRUCT has solid strong competences in big data management. A number of interesting applications and services in the field of e-Health and e-Tourism have been released. Also FRUCT team has top competences on distributed Smart Spaces and in particular it is one of key contributors and main maintainer of Smart-M3 platform.
