For a 5th Dan in South Africa like myself, The course was a very good eye opening for refresher especially in terms of refereeing. I've learned during the 3 Tests that Power is President to everything when deciding hansoku, technique follows after that with a more powerful and damaging high Kicks,mid kicks and lower kicks as followed by more damaging punches and a high number of application on both puches and kicks this is followed by a Good Fighting Spirit. In the course I've learned that Ippon and Wasate Ippon may be equal Scores and either a Waza ari is advantageous if your opponent has a kakouki-chui, or even a Geten (1-3). The course helps referees to decide better while fighters are to avoid kakouki-chui-getten and shikaku at all cost.
The course was very helpful and allowed for me to do the course in my own time at my own speed. It also cover very important aspects of officiating in kyokushin tournament. The course helps especially us who are upcoming and still need to learn while we have limited resources.
