In my opinion, this course is definitely for language geeks (in a good sense, of course), but it's a far cry from "booster" These are just words which are divided into portions (not according to the a theme or something of this kind) and you need to either guess or look each word up in the dictionary. The question is: what for? It remains a mystery to me. Words are quite specific and there's no guarantee we may meet them on daily basis. No exercises, no listening stuff, no relevant context provided (may be video extract where they're used). Not sure if it comes in handy in the long run , perhaps it's just a matter of opinion. But to me it's not worth its weight in gold.
Hi there! Thanks a lot for trying this game out and leaving a very thoughtful review. You're right, it's a language booster-type exercise; however, as its title and summary describe, it's a RARE WORD game, so naturally it's made up of words that are far from being frequently used. That's why you aren't supposed to meet them routinely. This little fun game (or a mental exercise) is merely to test one's language intuition through guessing, looking for alternatives in one's native language, and prepping words. The wrong strategy here would be to look up words in the dic. Plus, it's always cool to add a few geeky words to a conversation with friends or colleagues. Come back for a new language exerciser on phrasal verbs that is about to be released. It will definitely have enough drill that you missed so much in this game. Cheers!
