The course is devoted to a comprehensive study of the Baltic region - its geographical, geopolitical, economic features, as well as cross-border cooperation. Subject of study: patterns of formation, development and spatial organization of the Baltic region.

The purpose of the course:

In-depth learning of the laws and problems of the formation, development, and spatial organization of international transnational and cross-border regions, especially with the participation of the Russian Federation and its subjects.

The results of mastering the discipline
Competences generated by a graduate student as a result of mastering the discipline:
- willingness to participate in the work of Russian and international research teams to solve scientific and scientific-educational problems;
- readiness to use modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages;
- the ability to independently carry out research activities in the relevant professional field using modern research methods and information and communication technologies;
- the ability to take into account the interests of the Russian Federation and its regions in carrying out an integrated and sectoral socio-geographical study of international regions and the development of recommendations for their further development and spatial organization.

- Knowledge of the principles of organizing the work of Russian and international research teams to solve scientific and educational problems;
- Knowledge of modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages;

- Knowledge and readiness to defend the interests of the Russian Federation and its regions in carrying out a socio-geographical study of international regions and developing recommendations for their further development and spatial organization.
