1. What I learned: I gained a deeper, more systematic understanding of how stereotypes and archetypes function in mass communication, especially in international journalism. The connection between Jungian archetypes and modern branding/advertising was particularly new and insightful, as was the detailed analysis of specific media outlets like The Economist and The Sun. 2. What I liked: I especially enjoyed the practical assignments that blended critical thinking with creativity, such as analyzing Ian Mitchell's audio work and deconstructing stereotypes in real-world examples. The focus on applying theoretical concepts to journalism, PR, and advertising made the material highly relevant. 3. Weak points & improvements: The course could be even stronger by incorporating more recent, diverse case studies from digital and social media. Adding optional, synchronous online discussions could also enhance peer-to-peer learning and debate. 4. Requirements & choice: I chose this course to better understand the ethical responsibilities of communicating across cultures and to improve my analytical skills for deconstructing media messages—goals it met effectively. My requirement was a course that was both theoretically grounded and practically useful, which this delivered. Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
