Для кого этот курс

In general, this course is recommended for those who approach the development of their professional competencies in business management from the standpoint of a systems approach, who seeks to acquire fundamental organizational and economic knowledge of strategic planning and management. These are, rst of all, students at master’s level of education, studying for a corresponding degree in business administration and management. At the same time, we are sure that this course can be useful for master's students, studying in the eld of economic cybernetics.

Начальные требования

You will need a basic knowledge in the elds of micro- and macro-economics, theory of organization and organizational behavior, general management, strategic planning, beginnings of graph theory, matrix algebra, game theory. At the same time, it should be noted that, if desired, everyone can ll the gaps in their basic training in a particular area of knowledge in the process of studying the course materials, since here is an exhaustive list of the necessary literature. In the end, you can always write to the instructor and ask for appropriate help in mastering the course material.

Как проходит обучение

This course has 6 chapters with the following educational content:

1.   Introduction. Entropy, chaos and organization. Uncertainty as a factor of organization development.

2.     Complexity versus uncertainty. Evolution, revolution and co-evolution. Continuity and change in organizations.

3.     Organizations as is how do we interpret them: basics of organizational theory in historical context.

4.     Organizational evolution as a reection of organization environment’s change. Population ecology.

5.     Competition, cooperation, coopetition. Strategic management as a way of control the organization’s environment changes and the growth of organizational complexity.

6. Developing and managing strategies adjusted to the stages of the organization life cycle - introduction and growth: start-up and grow in own way. Strategies of mature organizations. Strategies for organisational growth: renew or step down.

Normally, it takes 6 weeks to complete the course if you meet all prerequisites. It can take longer, if you rst need to upgrade your knowledge in economics or mathematics.
