The course “Surface Water Quality: management and modeling” allows to quickly introduce students to the features of modeling surface water pollution and how to prevent and eliminate it, taking into account water quality standards and the characteristics of polluting agents. The course is especially relevant for students whose professional activities are related to ensuring water quality, conducting environmental monitoring, as well as assessing the risks that arise when using water of inadequate quality. The course can be used in interdisciplinary programs and to expand the knowledge of representatives in regional administration annd in legal, medical, and engineering sectors about the role and ways of maintaining the quality of surface waters in the economy and social life of the region. The course is of interest both for areas in which there is a need to maintain high surface water quality in the absence or in low degree implementation of quality standards, and for territories that successfully maintain surface water quality but are interested in optimizing and improving the efficiency of relevant procedures.

I have gotten to understand parameters like dissolved oxygen, BOD, and their impact on aquatic ecosystems and I would recommend to people with keen interest in the wastewater treatment as a nice program. To broaden their scope of knowledge I personally recommend this course to them. Thank you to the organizers as well

Después de completar el curso, aprendí nuevas técnicas de análisis de datos que no conocía antes, lo cual fue muy útil para mi campo de estudio. Me gustó la claridad de las explicaciones y la interacción con el profesor, aunque la carga de trabajo fue un poco alta. Sugiero incluir más ejemplos prácticos para mejorar el curso. Половина вопросов не правильные. Есть задачи в которые вводишь правильный ответ, а на выходе "Ответ не верный". Некоторые вопросы вообще не корректные.
Very good course
this course is an excellent guide for learning about water quality. while studying, this course, i have learned the following concepts; - The significance of dissolved oxygen in water, - Eutrophication - Pollution, Water pollution, types, sources and nature of pollutants - BOD and COD calculations, testing methods and equipment. - Water quality standards - Clean Water Act (1974) and Safe Water Drinking Act (2014) - Maximum contaminant Levels and Maximum Contaminant Level Goals - Water quality monitoring - Water quality assessment - Environmental monitoring. I liked the fact that the chapters have practical case studies. This helps to clarify the theoretical knowledge that was gained. Some of the quiz questions are not really clear and are therefore difficult to understand and answer. I choose to study this course because I am interested in environmental protection, and surface water management is a very important aspect of the environment.
